Pollinators are attracted to bright petals and the scent of nectar.  Complex petals are helpful; a place for a bee to bury its tongue or a butterfly to rest its legs.  They will more quickly land on flowers in blue-violet hues, yellow, and even white.  In our experience at Baraka Gardens, we most frequently see the bees and butterflies busy at the baskets with lots of yellow/orange blooms.
