These baskets DO WORK!   Hummingbirds DO love to hum about them!
New this year is "Hummingbird Falls Salvia."   This is a newly developed version of salvia which is, hands-down, hummers favorite meal!   Hummingbirds are actually genetically driven to salvia.
Please let us know in your notes if you would like us to include one in your basket.  Reason being, as excited and confident as we are in this new plant, we have not yet been able to trial them so we are not sure about their growth habit.   The blooms are blue which should make a lovely contrast with the inevitable red flowers that attract hummers.
 
If you request a hummingbird basket, you better like red!  This is a serious attractant for our little hummer friends. Calliope medium-dark red geraniums see much action in our greenhouse so there is a good chance we will plant one in your basket. 
 
Hummingbirds are also attracted to deep-throated flowers, especially if the throat is darker than the surrounding petals.  This is why we use our calibrachoa quite heavily in the hummingbird baskets, along with other high-sucrose plants.
 
If your basket will be placed in shade instead of sun, we will fill your baskets with beautiful fuschias! Pre-order is strongly recommended as these baskets sell out fast!
