Blue Banana is named as a nod to its longer, larger, sweeter berries.
It's the newest cultivar in the haskap family that we are aware of.  Honeyberries continue to be played with in an effort to make them bigger and better ... an effort that obviously takes years!
Honeyberries require cross-pollination and the Blue Banana pairs well with almost every haskap we've been selling over the past years:  Tundra, Borealis, Honey Bee, Aurora and both the Beauty and The Beast.
Honeyberries are the first fruit you will harvest in your garden!  
 
These are fast-growing shrubs that reach a height up to 8 ft.  They look much like a blueberry with an oval shape.  They taste like a blueberry but more tart.   The longer you leave them before picking, the sweeter they become.  That said ... you gotta eat them before the birds do!   Waxwings absolutely love them!
